EGITTO, ARRESTATO MOHAMED BADIE, LEADER SPIRITUALE DEI FRATELLI MUSULMANI

IL CAIRO (RIVER FLASH)- Mohamed Badie, 70 anni, leader “spirituale” dei Fratelli Musulmani in Egitto, è stato arrestato al Cairo nella notte tra lunedì 19 e martedì 20 agosto. Badie si nascondeva dalla polizia egiziana dal giorno della deposizione dell’ex presidente Mohamed Morsi, appartenente anche lui al movimento politico-religioso dei Fratelli Musulmani. L’agenzia di notizie statale ha detto che Badie è stato trovato in un appartamento residenziale nel quartiere di Nasr City. Il Partito Libertà e Giustizia, il braccio politico dei Fratelli Musulmani, ha annunciato lunedì sul suo sito che Mahmoud Ezzat, attualmente vice capo del partito, prenderà temporaneamente il posto di Badie come guida suprema della Fratellanza.
Al Jazeera ha scritto che Badie si trova ora in prigione sotto stretta sorveglianza. Sia lui che il suo vice, Khairat el-Shalter, che si trova in carcere dal 5 luglio, sono accusati di essere coinvolti nell’uccisione di otto manifestanti fuori dalla sede dei Fratelli Musulmani al Cairo, durante le manifestazioni anti-Morsi di giugno. Le immagini dell’arresto di Badie sono state trasmesse dal canale televisivo privato On Tv, controllato dal governo: un segno, scrive la Bbc, che il governo ad interim vuole umiliare e indebolire il più possibile i Fratelli Musulmani, prima di arrivare a possibili negoziazioni, così da partire da una posizione di forza.
